26/06/11 - Launch of Islamic Arts Museum Australia

With an impending launch on July 3, Desypher is proud to announce their involvement as the designers of Australia’s first Islamic Arts Museum. The Museum aims to showcase the rich artistic heritage and historical contributions of Muslims in Australia and abroad.

The design will be showcased after the launch.

24/03/11 - Current Exhibition at Desypher Gallery

“ECLECTIC CONNECTIONS; where the material and spiritual world collides” is the theme of our next exhibition at the Gallery, by artist Zahrah Habibullah-Williams (www.soukcollective.com).

The Launch of the exhibition was held on Saturday 30 April 2011 (2pm-5pm), and was part of the Knowledge Retreat 2011 (22-26 April) and Creativity of the Spiritual Path Melbourne (1 May 2011).

20/09/10 - Eid Magazine UK features the Melbourne Musalla & Canberra Islamic Centre proposal

The recently published Eid Magazine UK 2010 features tow of our projects; the University of Melbourne Musalla and Canberra Islamic Centre proposal.

To an extent, this project demonstrates the dynamism of DESYPHER’s architectural approach in nurturing the physical and spiritual environment towards visual zikr ………’ pgs.34 on the Musalla

Our proposal is to create a Centre that more resembled a ‘community fair’, rich with activities, colours, avenues and greenery. …………. No domes, no arches, no minarets and no apologies!’ pgs.37 on Canberra proposal.

19/07/10 - Desypher’s Qibla Wall was finalist in New Jersey, USA

Qibla Wall unimelbDESYPHER’s entry to the Art in Architecture Competition for the new Contemporary Art Centre, New Jersey has been selected for the final and juried into the exhibition. The entry depicts the Qibla Wall at the University of Melbourne new prayer hall as a collograph, combining modern calligraphy with its layering effect of steel mesh and laser-cut steel patterns, transcending time and space beyond the wall.
