What’s in a Name

Desypher has its origins in the Arabic word “sifer”, meaning zero.

The use of zero by Muslim mathematicians had a tremendous impact in advancing mathematical concepts and scientific discoveries. When first introduced in Europe it was regarded as an abstract, unclear notion.  And so “sifer” or “cipher” came to mean something coded and obscure and inversely “decipher” an unraveling of the code.

And so we took on the title “Desypher” as a declaration; to make apparent what is misunderstood and to create architectural responses that serve as vehicles of positive contribution.
