Desypher has recently been honoured to have been asked to design the master planning for a youth centre in the CBD of Dandenong, Melbourne simply called “The Markaz.”

The Markaz is located in an abandoned church buildings which include the main chapel, multi purpose hall and ancillary spaces.

The project pivots around previously formed courtyard or “sahan” as a welcoming place, which it is envisaged will be the visage of many of the outreach programs directed at youth or run by youth. These include the community enterprise café, the feed the homeless program, life-skills and support sessions, sports, events venue, community gardens and general hang-out space.
